Travelday App & Social Media

Overwiev

In order to help Travelday  to expand their business even more, my team and I decided to create the prototype of an app and a social media strategy & content. For becoming recognized in the market and to establish a well-known name it is important to be active in the social media environment, as well as launching your own brand-named app.

Concept

The concept behind the app was to create a place for people where to organize their trips they booked trough Travelday website. Their trips are automatically saved in the app, where they have the option to plan their dream trips. We knew that planning the vacation could be an annoying task sometimes, because flights & accommodation tickets, maps, time planning, tourist spots, documents, and everything needed are in different places. Therefore, our app brings value by saving a time consuming problem: not having to worry, everything you need is in one place.

For creating consistency between the solution we developed for the user page before, we used the same style tiles. We kept the same colors and fonts and similar layout. We wanted to represent Travelday as a company that not only wants to offer their customers a great experience for their holiday, but also in the digital environment.

Mockups

After a lot of consideration and design changes, my team and I agreed these would be the final look of the app. There are a few functions the app is able to do. Of course, the main one is that imports the trips you booked from Travelday Website. After your trip is saved, you can make a plan for your holiday, check your tickets, add touristic spots you want to visit, add a to-do list and check all the practical details from the departure to the returning date.

Social media strategy

When you own a company, social media is an important part when it comes to create a relation to your customers, expand your business and develop a visual identity for your brand. Travelday social media accounts, both Facebook and Instagram don’t have a powerful impact right now and they don’t match the expectation of the company or the users, as their posts are poorly reacted and commented.

Social media is indispensable nowadays, so the content must be valuable and entertaining for the users, so the company can stand out and expand their customers segment.

For having successful social media pages, it is needed a bit effort and consistent and consequent content on your accounts. That’s why we decided to create a social media campaign. Here you can see a brainstorming of relevant content for Travelday social media accounts, and what we wanted to achieve with it. This darkest items represent the content we actually created, because we considered it the most valuable for our target group and for our client as well.

Social media content

We tried to keep the same style for our social media content as the same in our previous solutions. Down below you can see the content I created.

There is an article for Facebook. Its purpose is to give tips to people, in order to increase the trust of the company. Helping people with some advice with this kind of marketing content would make them come back and increase Travelday’s traffic. I adopted a friendly and informal language, specific for our target group, but still with a lot of useful information according to the topic.

We thought social media is an important place to announce launching a new feature on your website. In our case, this post would let people know that user account is available now on their website and invites them to try it on.

Last but not least, an inspirational video to inspire people to travel is great for the good image of Travelday. It shows their values, their perspective and encourage people to enjoy every moment.

Everything was a team effort and in the end we were very happy to deliver a valuable and qualitative solution to our client, who was really pleased about it as well. We received a great feedback which worth all the sleepless nights and the hard work we’ve done.
